I believe texting and driving is one of the most dangerous combinations that can lead to injuries and possibly fatalities. When someone is behind the wheel of a car they really need to have good eyesight and their ears open seeing and hearing their surroundings. I don’t know how everybody else is, but when I text I feel like I’m literally inside my own phone and space out all my surroundings. This is definitely something that is the exact opposite of what you should be doing while driving.Honestly I see no point in doing it because their really is absolutely no text message that needs to be replied right after it’s received it can wait. Someone shouldn't risk their life’s while driving just to answer a text that says what’s up? In recent years about 20 percent of fatal crashes have been due to distracted drivers on cell phones. Studies have shown that when your texting you double your reaction time to any road dangers.
It is very important that something be done to decrease the rate of fatal or any car crashes due to cellphone texting. I know bluetooth is already an option, but that has no effect on text messaging instead it’s directed towards talking on a cell phone. I believe texting is much more dangerous for the reason that when your talking you can actually see the road in front of you. A way that might get some people to stop would be setting a high priced fine for texting while driving. Also, requiring all new car models to have enabled voice texting from now on could help. The one way that is sure not to back fire is simply turning off your cellphone when driving. It really doesn't matter how it be solved, but rather how soon it could be solved. This is something that needs to be addressed the sooner the better.
there are at times i even glance at my phone an notice myself glide to the right as i drive and text.
ReplyDeleteI never thought about shutting my phone off while driving. That is a great idea, keeps the urge to text down :)
ReplyDeleteI used to text and drive all the time until one day i reply to a text and when i look up i was really close to hitting the car in front of me and had to swerve to the side.
ReplyDeleteI try hard not to text and drive but sometimes its difficult not to.
