Fast Food

Fast food and I go way back before I was even old enough to order food from these establishments myself. I literally was in love with the unhealthy grease filled breakfast at Mcdonalds. I remember telling my mom exactly what I wanted two sausage mcgriddles, two hash browns, and a medium soda. At the age of eight I was probably eating fast food as much as five times a week. I didn’t know what unhealthy food was all I saw was a happy clown named Ronald with toys and good looking food being served from his restaurant. I’m not sure if it was the food or toys that led me to go multiple times week. Although I ate that much of it you couldn't tell because I was skinny form always playing sports. By the age of thirteen I can honestly say I was addicted to fast food. The problem was that I started noticing the effects when I started gaining weight very rapidly. Freshman year of high school was the first time someone told me I had gotten fat. It just hits me maybe I need to change the way I eat and workout more. I wanted to change, but it was hard especially with my family. Fast food has always been a huge part of my family for as long as I can remember. Not one Sunday passed by where I didn’t see a bucket of Kentucky fried chicken on the table. The weird thing was that we knew the dangers of fast food yet continued to buy it. We bought it because one it tasted really good and second it’s cheap and very affordable. Although it’s very unhealthy some of my best childhood memories took place in fast food restaurants.

For about the past four years I have been exercising and eating very healthy, so I have kept fast food very limited. Ever since I started researching how the food is made and the low quality ingredients they use I just couldn't eat it anymore. Another bad thing about most food items from these fast food restaurants is the fat content along with the sodium its just way too much and unhealthy. The only times I do eat  rather poorly it’s usually higher quality restaurant food and not fast food. I’d have to say that I probably eat fast food only four times a year. That is only if you count In N Out as fast food. You could eat fast food and still be healthy by selecting smaller portion sizes and choosing chicken instead of beef. For me the problem is, I eat so much, so the calories add up very quickly. Food is a very huge part of my life I love to eat, but I don’t choose fast food. Sure its tasty, but when you eat it so much your body starts not to function the same and effects you long-term. I know by excluding fast food as well as sodas, and junk food I will live a longer healthier life.

Past Present & Future

It all started on October 14th, 1994 I remember it very clearly just kidding everything was a blur until about kindergarten. My childhood was a little different from all my elementary school friends because unlike them I was an only child. I remember being in school hearing everybody talking about their older brothers and sisters all the time. Sure I got more toys which were very important back then, but I always wanted to have that older brother figure in my life. Instead of an older sibling my grandma was the one always there for me since we live in the same house. When I was in 3rd grade my mom decided to enroll me in soccer which I hated. I already knew I wasn't good, but had to prove it to her so I only scored two goals the whole season. Keep in mind it wasn't on purpose. I tried another  sport and found out it was perfect for me basketball. Not only did I enjoy playing, but I was pretty good too. Growing up I became a huge Los Angeles Lakers fan. I really enjoyed junior high I attended E.O Green and graduated on too Hueneme High School. Some of the best four years of my life. Graduation was a very exciting long awaited day for me. A day I will never forget seeing all my friends and family with smiles on their faces. For me having my grandma congratulate and give me a huge was the most memorable moment of my graduation.

Currently at the age of seventeen I am attending Oxnard College. I have only been their a couple of days, but I'm already enjoying it. Much different from high school, but I already got used to it probably because I get to wake up late for classes greatest feeling ever. I hope to get my license within the next couple months and my car too. The car I have my eye on is a 2008 Honda Accord right now, but my dream car is a 2012 Lexus Gs 450. I'm tired of riding the bus to school there are too many weird people. To buy a car money is needed and that’s where sadly I come across a problem. I have never worked, but I started filling out applications recently hopefully I get a call soon. Even now I am still a very active person playing basketball every now and then with some of my friends. I just started lifting weights and I also run at the beach. I’ve stopped eating junk food and fast food for a couple of years now. I'm living a healthy lifestyle from now on.

In the future I hope to see myself with a good paying job, and my dream car as well. This could be ten years or even ten weeks from now. The future is inevitable so I want to succeed in everything I can do now to make every day in the future better. That way when I have a family I am able to support them, and give them a good life. I really don’t see myself still living here in Oxnard once I have a family. I would really like to move to Las Vegas, but the summer heat is just to intense I would have to get accustomed to it. If I were to move to Las Vegas I would be able to attend UNLV which would be awesome.
